What we promise, and what we ask of you.
When Baby’s Home helps a family plan practical support for the first weeks after a baby comes home. These terms explain what we promise, what we ask of you, and what happens to your information. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else here: plainly.
- Not medical, not for emergenciesIf something is wrong, call a professional or your local emergency number.
- A link can be forwardedWe cannot tell when it happens. Share it like a house key.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or older to create a household. Helpers do not create accounts (they use a private link a family sends them), but the same age applies.
One person creates a household and becomes its owner. The owner can invite other organizers, and can hand ownership to one of them.
What this is, and what it is not
This is a coordination tool. It helps you say what would help, and helps the people who love you sign up to do it.
It is not medical advice, and it is not for emergencies. Nothing here is guidance about your health or your baby’s health. If something is wrong, contact a medical professional or your local emergency number. Do not use this product to ask for urgent help; a helper may not see a message for days.
We also do not vet helpers, run background checks, or verify who anyone is. The people who can see your plan are the people you sent your link to. Deciding who that is, is yours alone.
Your private link
A household gets a private link to share with helpers. Anyone who has that link can open the family page; that is what makes it work without accounts.
A link can be forwarded, and we cannot detect it. We can tell you which helpers currently have an active session from a link, but we cannot tell you everyone who has ever received the address. Share it the way you would share a house key.
You can turn a link off at any time. Doing so immediately ends access for everyone using it, including anyone it was forwarded to.
The same is true of a baby announcement, if you publish one: the link is unlisted rather than secret, it can be forwarded, and turning it off cannot recall a copy someone has already saved or a preview their messaging app has already cached.
What you put in
You keep everything you write and upload. We do not claim ownership of your family’s details, your notes, or your photos.
You give us permission to store and display that content for the purpose of running the product for you: showing your plan to the helpers you chose, sending the emails the product sends on your behalf, and keeping it safe. That is the whole of it. We do not sell it, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not show it to advertisers.
Please only put in what you are comfortable sharing with the people you send your link to. If you write something in a note, a helper with the link can read it.
What we ask of you
Do not use the product to harass anyone, to impersonate someone, to upload content you have no right to share, or to break the law. Do not try to reach another household’s information, or to get around the limits that keep the product working for everyone.
If you invite someone, you are responsible for that choice.
Deleting your household
The owner of a household can archive it or delete it, from the Sharing tab.
- Archive
- Kept, sealed
- Keeps the data and removes everyone’s access.
- Delete
- Gone in 7 days
- All access ends immediately; the household’s data and any photos are deleted within seven calendar days. We keep a small record that a deletion happened, which contains no family content.
- Operational records
- 90 days max
- The technical evidence that lets us fix problems. Privacy explains exactly what those contain and what they never contain.
While we are in beta
The product is free while we are in beta, and we may change or remove features while we work out what helps.
We do our best to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available. Please do not rely on it as the only way you can reach the people helping you; keep a way to text them.
If we ever charge for the product, we will say so clearly before you pay anything, and you will not be charged for something you already have.
Support
Write to help@whenbabyshome.com, or use the “Report a problem” control inside the product. Support explains what we can and cannot do, including that we will not look up a household or resend a family’s private link on a helper’s behalf, because we cannot verify who is asking.
Ending things
You can stop using the product at any time, and delete your household as described above.
We may suspend or end access to a household that is being used to harm someone, to break these terms, or in a way that puts other households at risk. If we do that and it is not an emergency, we will tell you why.
The legal part
We provide the product as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from a decision you made using it, including who you shared a link with, or help that did or did not arrive.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the product before the change applies to you. Small corrections we will simply make, and the date at the top will tell you when.
